Sometimes I Resent Christmas

(Edited and reposted)

Glory be to God in the highest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two thousand years ago, God came to earth in the form of a baby to save the world. The Infinite became finite. Thirty three years after he was born, he was tortured and killed to take on the punishment for the sins of all.....past, present and future!

Instead of us cherishing that most important gift or helping to share that gift, our lives get filled up with a material thing to get for someone. Or even worse, we actually get concerned with what we are going to get for Christmas.

Sometimes I resent Christmas!!!!!!!!!

Instead of us cherishing that most important gift or helping to share that gift, we fill our hearts and minds full of the "magic" of the season.

Sometimes I resent Christmas!!!!!!!!!

Instead of us cherishing that most important gift or helping to share that gift, we openly deny God's grace in our lives in favor of focusing on trees, lights, colors, taking time off from work and/or school, candy and cookies, making a big dinner, etc.

Sometimes I resent Christmas!!!!!!!!!

Instead of us cherishing that most important gift or helping to share that gift, we forget the very reason we even have all of those Christmas things: Two thousand years ago, God came to earth in the form of a baby to save the world. The Infinite became finite. Thirty three years after he was born, he was tortured and killed to take on the punishment for the sins of all.....past present and future!

Sometimes I resent Christmas!!!!!!!!!

The main reason why I sometimes resent Christmas?

I am shamefully and wretchedly guilty as well!

I have seen and heard so many people focus of trying to make each Christmas the most wonderful experience or perfect Christmas yet. THERE IS NO WAY TO ACHEIVE A PERFECT CHRISTMAS in this day and age. Nor is there any reason to even try. The most perfect Christmas already happened...two thousand years ago. There were no lighted trees, grand meals, or even Santa Claus. There was just a precious Advent from God in the form of a baby that would grow into a man who loved and loved and loved.

When you look at your Christmas decorations, or eat a wonderful Christmas dinner, or relish in some fun times this and every Christmas, remember to be able to put all that behind you in favor of accepting and sharing the most wonderful, glorious thing about Christmas.........JESUS CHRIST.

GLORY BE TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST!!!
